YOUTH EDUCATION MINISTRY NEWS…

December 2011

Dear Parents and Family Members,

In 2012 the Unity of AV Youth Education Program is excited to begin theChildren on the Quest” A Living Curriculum for preschool and elementary-aged children. unity quest The education materials are published by the Association of Unity Churches International which also provides other resource materials for the Unity teachers.

“Children on the Quest” is a four-book series of 48 lessons. Each lesson is story-based and uses Bible passages and contemporary children’s books that match the theme of the week’s lesson.  Some of the themes will be God Will; God First; God as Mind—One God, One Mind; and Law of Mind Action. We will read contemporary books to the children such as Magical Moonballs and The Sunflower Parable to make the lessons come alive. The children will also use their creativity by illustrating what they learn through arts and crafts projects.

We encourage all of our Unity members to stop by our education center on occasion to see how our children are “living and feeling” the Unity principles. Parent volunteers are always welcome on Sundays to see how their children are learning and to assist Natalie and me from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

Here’s to a great new year!

Blessings to you,

Theresa Troxel

The Five Unity Principles for Children

1. God is all good and active in everything, everywhere.

2. I am naturally good because God's Divinity is in me and in everyone.

3. I create my experiences by what I choose to think and what I feel and believe.

4. Through affirmative prayer and meditation, I connect with God and bring out the good in my life.

5. I do and give my best by living the Truth I know. I make a difference!
