"Any practice that has endured for centuries must have more than casual importance in human affairs. The further fact that many of the world's greatest credit their success to their practice of tithing also impresses us with its importance. A tithe is 10% or more of your income left with the Source of all things as belonging to the Source. It is left that you may not sever your contact with the Source.
The farmer follows the plan of tithing perfectly and scientifically as far as his crops are concerned. Approximately one tenth of the best seed is kept for replanting. This is returned to the soil to perpetuate the process of growth The seed that he sows is not a gift. It belongs to the soil as an inseparable part of the process of Nature. All of his increase is contingent upon this procedure. You see, the farmer protects, preserves, and supports the field from which he directly receives his support. And so must we.
When we tithe to the place from which we receive our spiritual support, we place ourselves in the most direct position with the Law of Increase to be assured of the most direct and abundant blessings. 10, 20, 50, or even 100 fold increase is not too much to expect from our practice of tithing."
