There’s an African proverb that states, “The body of a man (or woman) is very small compared with the Spirit that inhabits it.” The Spirit that inhabits your body and mine is the Only Spirit – the One Spirit of Life that we call by the name of God. God Is Life and this Life is the life of all creation, for each of us are Its forms, Its children, Its temples.
The life in you is the source and the force of your body and mind. God Life breathes you, beats your heart, and is the intelligence and activity of all of your organs. This life is so much greater than the physical body; it is our life forever, even when it is time to lay the body down and enter into a new phase of living.
Let us praise and give thanks for the God Life that is ours and for its eternal nature in and as and through us.
God dwells in you, as you.— Eat, Pray, Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert
Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?— I Corinthians 6:19
Our Affirmation for Today is:
