The Burning Bowl service is an annual event that focuses on the power of letting go and the power of intention. Each of the congregation writes down what they would like to release from the past on a small piece of flash paper which they bring to the "burning bowl" and touch to the flame of a candle. The “poof” as the paper disolves is a symbol of what happens in our minds and hearts when we let go.
Each of the congregation also writes a "Letter to God" after the Burning Bowl and describes all the new and wonderful things they would enjoy experiencing in the New Year. Each person self-addresses an envelope and seals their letter in it. Letters are collected and mailed to each congregant in December. It is wonderful to see how these intentions manifest in people's lives over the course of the year.

Following the half-hour guided meditation attendees may sit while listening to music or have an optional hands-on-healing by one of Unity of Antelope Valley’s practitioners.
