For the past five years I had been discontented with my job which made me go inward often to pray for “work that I love doing and in a supportive environment.” But, when I actively searched, nothing would come up. My inner guidance was telling me to stop the search and to trust. In the process of me becoming more aware of Truth, I moved through a period to heal some unresolved pain that was necessary before I left this place of employment. Once I released that pain I found the Universe supporting me to quit my job, something I didn’t expect. Since I quit, I have found much freedom doing work I love in a supportive environment, better than I imagined. I give thanks that I trusted and allowed the steps to unfold as they did. I got out of the way and let God.

I was visiting my dad and step-mom Rose in Nashville when Rose had a heart attack following a “routine” carotid artery surgery on July 28. Her heart doctor learned that the two main arteries to her heart were 80% blocked, and she was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They scheduled her for triple bypass surgery on August 1. My father and I were very scared and nervous about this, and we prayed that Rose would pull through the surgery and be healthy again. I called on my friends at Unity of AV and Unity of Nashville to pray for a successful operation and healing for Rose. I am happy to report that Rose is doing extremely well six weeks after the surgery and is back to her old self again.
A Guardian Angel was looking out for me when my prayer was answered in 1998. My sister Lucille had made her transition, and I knew my son Steve would want to attend his favorite aunt’s funeral; however, Steve was a long-distance truck driver and without cell phones, it was impossible to reach him. I left messages with Steve’s employer, wife and friends and PRAYED. After driving hundreds of miles on the way to the funeral, my husband Tommy and I reached Reno during heavy rush hour traffic. We realized we were going in the wrong direction, causing an hour delay to backtrack. We spotted a large motel and truck stop where we decided to spend the night—but we missed the motel entrance. Just as we drove in through the truck stop exit, who did we see driving out—but our son Steve! We flagged him down and he was able to go to the funeral in Twin Falls!
We deeply believe in the power of prayer. In the mornings, we read the inspirational prayers in the Daily Word, and we sometimes compose our own prayers. We have gone online to request prayers from “Silent Unity,” and we have requested prayers from Rev. Nancy for circulation to church members. In our own experience, we know that prayers are answered. We want to thank all of you for your prayers for our son Steve’s recent surgery. It was even more successful than anyone—including his doctors—expected!
